Santhosha Vidhyalaya School opened in 1982 at Dohnavur. The present school now provides Christian education and home care for over 570 children aged between five and seventeen. Their parents are with a number of different missions and organizations working in many parts of India, especially with the under-privileged in remote areas. In many cases the environment is unsuitable for them to have their children with them. They also have the problem of providing education in different, and sometimes changing, language areas as they move to different locations. Currently, we have children speaking 13 different languages and representing 26 out of the 32 States of India.A boarding-school, such as the Santhosha Vidhyalaya School, enables parents to continue their service, satisfied that their children will be well-educated and lovingly cared for.
